I’ve been thinking about home defense lately and what I keep near my bed. What firearm do you have close by at night, and do you have any tricks for securing it safely?

At the moment, a Glock 19 with light. I have a double 12 as optional equipment. Depends on whether the noise is inside or outside. 4 legged varmints are the bigger problem here.

This got me to thinking=HA..Last Spring they "Turned the Dirt Over" a 1/2 block away + built two 4 story apartment buildings.
Well, the Vermin had to have someplace else to go==My yard-Front+Back..
NO DISCHARGE of firearms in town, so I bought a med size live trap...Caught 'Coons, Possums, and a couple of neighborhood cats..HAHA..
Still catch a few here and there.==They LIKE Sardines with cat food...
