No $200 "tax" but......................

Reading in the Star this morning, the new law is signed, but it will be 90 days before the no tax thing kicks in?? I was ready to e-file another shortie today, I guess not. This thing will be tied up in court before the 90 days is up, the zero is not a tax thing is already headed that way. Hurry up and wait, sound familiar?

UPDATE: Per an Indiana gun lawyer, No tax effective date will be 1/1/26

" it is 90 days from the date the "Big Beautiful Bill" is published in the Federal Register, which will happen at the end of the current (third) quarter - Sept. 30/Oct. 1. So the effective date for the $0 tax is January 1, 2026."

Is anyone thinking about filing now and crossing their fingers for some retroactive relief? Or are yall just waiting to see what happens?

If you're eager to get that form submitted, it might be a good idea to do it now for that $200. Getting it in the queue early could save you from the chaos when everyone rushes in on January 1st. But I totally get not wanting to pay if you don't have to.
