Powder Prices

I went to the local farm store today and they had powder at 44 a pound. I bought the last two and it felt like a bargain.

How sad. One of my old cans of powder was marked 6.99 in grease pencil. Times change.

Yep todays prices are 40-50 per # for pistol powders and 50-60 per # on rifle...
Makes those .222 Rem. loads look nice==As compared to the .308/30-06 loads...Bill.

@Frontiersman, What Farm Store are you shopping? I'm always looking for more local places for reloading supplies. I'm in Delaware county. For me the closest place is Running's in Marion. They don't have the best prices, but they do have supplies. Lately that's as good as it gets.

Sometimes, I order "ship to store" and pickup at Cabela's at Hamilton Town Center. Either way, I have to drive a few miles.

Yep. Runnings in Marion. I bought a couple pounds of LeverEvolution. Sportsman’s Warehouse in FTW also has powder. Otherwise I usually order it from Midway. On occasion at a gun show. And Brian’s surplus over at Greentown.

Im playing with .22 hornet and 256 Winchester. Contemplating the 17 hornet. I need to find some time to shoot. I guess I save powder that way.
