Hit up a local lake here in Indiana last weekend for some bass fishing. I was out solo, which is always nice for some quiet time. The water was surprisingly clear, and the weather was just right—about 70 degrees and overcast. Used my trusty spinnerbait and managed to snag a few decent ones, nothing huge but enough to keep things interesting. Had a couple of missed strikes that felt promising but no luck on those. Always forget how much fun it is to just be out there, even if the fish aren't biting like crazy. Anyone else been out this year? How’s it looking in your neck of the woods?

I fished a private pond a couple of weeks ago. I didn't even get a nibble. Just the same, being out there and wetting a line is always time well spent.

I'm heading to Patoka Lake next week. I would love to get a report from there.

Some top water...

As the water temps are up, I like my "Chappo" top water tail prop bait.
You can fish it anywhere that you would run a Buzz Bait, but you can stop/start it because it floats.
The same action as a Wopper Plopper, but usually $2-$3 cheaper.
GREAT bait when the top water Bass bite is on...Bill.
