What was the first handgun you ever owned? I still remember mine—it was a bit of a clunker, but I had so much fun with it. Do you still have yours? How do you feel about it looking back?

I purchased a Model 19, 6 inch revolver in 1975, shortly after becoming a LEO. I used it for several years in PPC matches, eventually installing a 6 inch bull barrel with a counterweight, etc.
After my competition days ended, the revolver was converted again by adding a 2.5" barrel and converting the damaged blued finish to electroless nickel.

Still one of my favorite revolvers, and served many different rolls over these past 50 years.

Y'all had more liquid funds than I for the first handgun. FIE Titan .25 (Tanfoglio.)

Mine was a direct purchase from the grandfather of a girlfriend in the late eighties. He was a pastor who carried this mouse gun in his pocket during home visits.

I still have it 38 years later. Surprisingly accurate and reliable.

Still looks sharp after 38 yrs !

I bought a NIB Ruger New Model Single Six 51/2 Convertable for $91.25 if I recall it correctly. It was list price. I ordered from Ruger a stainless grip frame, hammer, trigger, ejector housing and ejector. I made stocks for it out of a hundred year old juniper bush a home owner was throwing away. Fifty years later I still have that revolver and the rest of that juniper bush. I should use it to make stocks for my Bisley Vaquero and Blackhawk both in 45 Colt.
