I had a good laugh at the shop this morning during a conversation with one of the regulars. He said every state should have a “state firearm,” and now I can’t stop pondering what Indiana’s would look like. I picture something blue-collar, trustworthy and probably older than half the guys here. What do you think it should be?

Other state emblems are historical.

The first areas settled were predominantly French, along the Ohio and Wabash rivers. Those that settled along the river became tough backwoodsman and river boat men. Thus the French origin for “Hoosier”.

Something like a Hawken or Long Rifle most likely.
