What Gun Gear or Ammo Did You Snag Recently?

Picked up something new today and figured I’d start a thread for others to share too. Doesn’t have to be anything big — ammo, accessories, deals you found, trades you made — if it’s gun-related, post it up.

What’d you find or buy recently?

I don't think that's fair...you say you got something new, and ask what we've got, but you didn't tell us what YOU got!

I'll see if I can find pics later, but last year I picked up a Remington model 8.
For those unfamiliar, the model 8 was the first commercially successful semi-auto center fire rifle in the U.S.
Mine was produced around 1935 if I remember correctly.
It is chambered in .35 Remington and has a unique recoil system.
The barrel is almost entirely encased in a barrel shroud, which is internally loaded with a dual recoil spring setup, one spring inside another.
The entire barrel reciprocates rearward with each shot.

Advertising at the time boasted, "Fire all 5 shots before the first empty case hits the ground".

A law enforcement version of this gun is what Texas state trooper Frank Hammer used to cut down Bonny & Clyde.
His had a detachable 15 round magazine, and was also chambered in .35 Remington.

A seemingly well built Hi Power clone. From Turkey. If it's anywhere as good as my many Tisas pistols, I'll be happy with it!

Remington Model 81, the successor to the Model 8. This one was made in 1948, is chambered in .300 Savage and wears a Weaver 1.5x fine cross hair scope.

I bought it in the summer of 2024 and killed a smaller buck with it on opening day last year.

Not yet, but I’ve only shot my 180 grain handloads and factory weakling FMJ.

Rounding up some 17 Mach 2 ammo (midway) and parts to build a 17 Ruger Charger.

So far I have:
Charger Receiver
VQ heavy bolt
Wolf heavy recoil spring
Wolf heavy hammer spring.
500 rounds CCI and Hornady

Needed:
17 barrel 10/22 or charger
Stock for bull barrel

S&W 21-4 Thunder Ranch .44 Spl.

I was looking for the non-Thunder Ranch version without the gold-plated emblem on the side. But for $300 less than the non-bling ones are going for, I’m OK with the gold.
