Every year at deer camp someone brings a new knife, someone else says his grandfather's drop point is all you need and the argument goes for 45 minutes while nobody's skinning anything. The best skinning knife is the one in your hand. Just start skinning.

I've been using the same skinning knife for around 35 years. I'm sure I bought it at K-Mart for around $14.00. It has been used to skin more deer than I care to count. My deer, friends deer and deer from people I had just met. No one could ever talk me out of it. It has never let me down, takes an edge and keeps it. I hope I never lose!
