Road Trip with a Gun

Planning a trip to visit family soon and trying to figure out the best route. I want to bring my firearm along, but going through New York State makes that tricky. It seems like avoiding New York adds a ridiculous amount of drive time. I'm weighing my options here. Has anyone else dealt with this kind of situation when traveling? What route did you take or what did you decide to do? I'm open to suggestions and insights.

Yeah, that's a tough call, man. NY laws can be a headache if you're carrying. Some folks just reroute even if it's longer, others lock everything down tight and roll

If you HAVE to go through this Pi** Poor state:
Lock up your firearms, get out your Louisville Slugger, and do NOT set foot/spend one DIME in this state..
I kind of feel the same on our neighbors to the West of us...


FWIW: I DID leave a Big something in a rest room of a Illinois gas station last time through!!
