I’ve read differing reports online (yeah, I know) over the last two days that Kimber is discontinuing revolver production. Further clarification… hasn’t done so. It might be that they are only dropping the aluminum alloy framed .38 Spl models.

I think it’s a shame if they drop any. For one, it’s too bad to lose any revolver production these days and for another, I like the Kimbers.

The very first ones had the sights regulated so they hit way high and fragile firing pins, which they fixed but never quite lived down.
I have an early, but not that early, K6s in the original style: concealed hammer and fixed sights. It has been great. Nice trigger.

I always wanted them to expand the line. A larger frame or even two larger frames for more caliber options would be nice. Using the current frame size but chambering for .22 or for .32 Mag would be neat.

Instead of expanding the line I got the opposite. I’ll be doing some pouting now.

Losing a revolver line always feels like a small funeral nobody planned for. The K6s had a rough start but the later ones are genuinely good guns that never quite got the credit.

A .22 K6s would have sold incredibly well and the market was clearly there for it. Somebody made a spreadsheet decision without asking the people who actually buy revolvers what they wanted.
