Ninety percent of my recreational shooting is with Cowboy Loads.
  • I use Trail Boss powder. Fill the case just under the level of a seated bullet or lower. Velocity is usually 800-1200fps, similar to original BP.
  • I use cast lead bullets as close to the original factory weight as possible.
  • I use Round Nose Flat Point bullets, or as close as I can get. They feed and perform well in lever actions and six guns.
  • I use a lead mix to a target hardness of around 8 BHN.
  • I lube with straight bees wax.
  • I use no gas check below 1200 fps.
  • I use bullet diameter 1-2 thousands over bore.
Favorite bullet mold by cartridge to follow.

*This is for the Remington break open rifle made by Bikal

That sounds like an interesting rifle for “just shooting”.
