Think about the optics you've used in your daily life that have remained in perfect alignment, no matter how many times they've been dropped, worn in a holster, or exposed to the elements. What are they?

I’ve had Leupolds that were great and some that were not. I’ve had Redfields that were terrible, but also have one of their lower-end “Tac-22” scopes that has been fine.

The only “always winners” I’ve had are Aimpoint, Trijicon (dots and scopes), and SWFA*. I have a Kahles that has been super, but I’ve only had one, and that’s not really enough to base anything on IMO.

*About SWFA. I should be paid by them for all the shilling I’ve done, but I’m not.
If you don’t know what they are, SWFA is a gun and optics store in Texas who has had a line of scopes made for them in Japan for a lot of years now. They sold nothing but fixed powers under the “Super Sniper” name for a long time. All were 30mm fixed, either 6X, 10X, 12X, 16X, and 20X. All the same overall size. It’s only been in the last few years they added variables. The fixed magnification models are still $349.95. Add $100 for parallax adj on the side instead of the rear. They have sales on at least Memorial Day and Black Friday, plus sometimes they have demo models on sale.
I have six, and they all work great. The fixed 20X pushed things too far IMO, because you have to have focus and parallax just right. Other than that, I love them.
My feeling now is if it’s under $1000, or I need something specific, I just buy an SWFA.
