My malfunction clearance was slow so I added it back into training

I ran a failure drill recently and realized my malfunction clearance was slower than it should be. It was a good reminder that skills fade if you do not practice them. I added it back into my regular rotation and started working it more deliberately.

Good catch..malfunctions don’t care how good your marksmanship is, only how often you rehearse clearing them.

I remember last month, my tap-rack drill was just off. It felt pretty embarrassing especially with the timer running. Guess I'll be back to dry firing those malfunction drills until it just happens without thinking. Funny how fast those skills disappear if you don't keep up with them.

I often get the bad habit of cheating, and skipping the “tap” of tap-rack-whatever. It’s bit me before, but I still feel the urge to cheat creeping in now and then.
