Your red dot setups

For those who rely on a red dot sight for their firearms, what window sizes and optic heights have you found to be the most reliable over time? I'm really interested to know if folks are leaning towards absolute co-witness, lower 1/3, or opting for no iron sights at all. Please share your setup, including your platform, dot model, mounting method, and iron sight configuration for context.

Preferably folding, in which they are kept folded away entirely. If I have to have sights sticking up, I want the dot mounted so the sight(s) is/are lower third.

The beauty of red dots is they let you have a mostly clear field of view. Cluttering the bottom half with iron sights takes a big bite out of that.

Good, and I mean good, red dots like Aimpoint fail so rarely fail anymore.

I’m just not a fan. The red dot covers too much of the target to promote the kind of accuracy I would like.

Though aging eyes may make me change my mind. I should probably give them another try.

I don't have any rwd dots on pistols but I do rifles. A Vortex on my AR15 and another on my S&W 15-22.
