I'm curious about ramen for prepping! Not super nutrient-dense, but it's cheap, filling, and lasts ages. I've got some cases in storage but wondering how long they really hold up past the date. Is there a better way to store them than just in the box? Also, does anyone regularly rotate ramen in their gear? Got any tips to make it more useful for the long haul? Seems like they last longer than they say.

Airtight, crush proof, dry? Since they're "petrified already, seems like the sky might be the limit? Although, most internet articles say up to 1 year.
Maybe someone a lot younger could start a test, fill a 50 cal can, with a good seal, and check them from time to time??

I try to keep a flat around in case of snow in or other unforeseen event. It's hot, high carb for some energy. Throw some squirrel, rabbit, garden veggies, forage greens, etc. Helps stretch the goods. Not unlike rice, corn, wheat, or other grain. But, certainly lighter to carry.

I agree about the petrified noodles bit. Maybe the season packet could go bad, but I doubt it. It has such a high salt content that it should last half of forever. Personally, I love to make a meal with Ramen. You can make some decent meals with a few add in items. Normally I use fresh or frozen veg, but dehydrated or freeze dried would work as well. Just like Cup o Noodles.
