So I finally treated myself to the 1911 I’ve always wanted, and my local shop gave me a sweet deal thanks to the sale!

My first 1911 was an R1. It's had a trigger replacement and a refinishing job along the way, still shoots great. Kinda the Timex of the 1911 world.

Absolutely love stories like that! The R1 has always held a special place in my heart because it’s one of those 1911s that proved its worth over the years. It’s not about being flashy, it's about being a reliable, sturdy pistol. Those guns really know how to earn their keep.
