Figured it was time for a place to show off our dogs — hunting buddies, porch dogs, or just the ones stealing our pillows.

Yes, they live up to their monikers.

They have 3.5 acres of heaven all to their own...which they rule over jealousy.

As luck would have it, I found a curry comb when I bought the property.
The previous owner had horses.
That curry comb took about 90% of those burrs out in less than 5 minutes per dog.
I was blown away, but glad I kept it.

What kind of dog is Duke?

Sheepdog/poodle mix, from a breeder in Ohio. They don't shed much at all. Poodles were bred for hunting, and that is his dominant half. Very protective of the house, property, and great with the grand kids, some of whom use him for a pillow.

I thought he might be. Having a half-Poodle myself, I spot others often.

Poodles are some of the smartest breeds of dogs, and sheepdog are no dummies.
That's a beautiful pooch.

My latest rescue. She came out of an Amish puppy mill, starving with 46 other dogs. She was liberated by the local shelter and the last to be adopted because of her fear of everyone. We started out hand feeding, hiding from everything. Now she is my couch buddy, full of life.
