Just curious, in case of a misfire where the round remains in place, what happens if you try the trigger again? Does it feel different, or could it become jammed?
You didn’t say what firearm, but I usually try them again if I’m just plinking.
Otherwise, it is generally accepted to keep the barrel pointed down range for at least 10 seconds in case there is a delayed fire. Take the dud and put it in the dud can. Most ranges have one.
I’ve never had one jam because I pulled the trigger on it a second time.
